Hear From Our CNO

"I began my nursing career at St. Joseph because the mission aligned with my own values — kindness, compassion, and putting the patient first. I value the words of nurse leader Antonia Villarruel, “Nurses are not just doers. Our work is supported by evidence and guided by theory. We integrate evidence and theory with our knowledge of patients and make important decisions with and for patients and families at the point of care.” Since my return to St. Joe’s in 2018, I’ve seen our nurses practice with this philosophy daily, combining clinical skill with critical thinking, empathy, and advocacy. I was fortunate to have strong leaders and mentors who invested in me and helped shape my path. Now, in my role as Chief Nursing Officer, my purpose is to support nurses growth, foster their voices, and sustain a culture where patients receive exceptional care."
