St. Joseph Healthcare provides the opportunity for hands-on and classroom learning for staff in a variety of clinical skills and professional topics upon hire and throughout the year, along with ongoing educational support at the bedside. New hire nurses are given a generous orientation period with preceptor support.
Our work includes partnering with higher education programs to create a space for student hands-on learning through clinicals and preceptorships. Key partners include The University of Maine, Husson University, Beal College and Eastern Maine Community College.
“The School of Nursing, within the College of Health and Pharmacy at Husson University, has developed an ongoing academic partnership since its inception in 1983. Our partnership with St. Joseph Healthcare helps to broaden our students’ clinical experience within the greater Bangor area.
