At St. Joseph Healthcare Pulmonary Medicine, our experienced physicians and staff have provided high quality and compassionate pulmonary and sleep disorder care to the local community for decades. With in-office testing and a state-of-the-art sleep lab, we can offer everything you need right here in Bangor.

Our pulmonary medicine team helps to prevent, diagnose and treat conditions and diseases of the lungs. We specialize in pulmonary, or respiratory, and sleep disorder care. Our physicians are certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. We believe good patient care starts with listening and getting to know our patients’ unique circumstances and health needs. We deliver care with compassion and excellence. This multidisciplinary program includes physicians, respiratory therapists, and dietitians.

It is an individualized program of therapy for patients with emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, chronic asthma or other related breathing problems. Following an examination by a physician, patients receive an initial evaluation followed by a 24-36 -session program of individualized exercise and educational instruction.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation department also offers a monthly support group for patients with pulmonary disease.
The Better Breathers Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Felician Conference Room, Second Floor, St. Joseph Healthcare. Members enjoy guest speakers and other activities.

The Pulmonary Function Testing at St. Joseph Healthcare specializes in treating both chronic lung problems and acute breathing problems. With inpatient and outpatient services, our therapists will design a care plan that’s right for your needs.

Tobacco and Nicotine Cessation Program

Quitting tobacco and nicotine use takes time and support. The Tobacco Cessation Outpatient Program at St. Joseph Healthcare is a good place to start your journey. We are here to help provide education, resources and support every step of the way.
