The Cathy Gero Orthopedic Center Named by Jim Gero
The Cathy Gero Orthopedic Center was named in memory of Cathy Gero in 2024 in gratitude for a generous gift made by Jim Gero. Cathy Gero, who resided in Texas and summered in Maine, cared deeply about the mission of St. Joseph Healthcare. She and her husband, Jim, were strong supporters of the Campaign for St. Joe’s from 2017 through 2020, offering a challenge gift to encourage employee giving and providing guidance throughout the
campaign. Later, she and Jim established an endowment to support primary care and orthopedic surgery at St. Joseph Healthcare. Cathy passed away in 2022 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
“We are so grateful to Jim Gero for this generous donation, made in honor of his late wife, the wonderful Cathy Gero. Cathy was an engaged community member and a lovely person.
