The acute outpatient program continues after discharge from 4 to 12 weeks. Patients participate in progressive aerobic exercise and strength training that is telemetry-monitored and clinically supervised. A cardiac nurse and an exercise physiologist plan and monitor these individualized exercise sessions under the supervision of a medical director.
