Marguerite's Charitable Remainder Unitrust Gift Saves Lives

Cornerstone News

In December 1990, Marguerite W. Mabee established a charitable remainder trust. Marguerite graduated from Rochester University in 1931, with a degree in nursing. On September 14, 1931, she married Dr. James R. Mabee of Patterson, NJ and they made Bangor their permanent home. She was well-known as a very kind and caring person and is greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband in 1987 and passed at her home on January 17, 2007.

Her charitable remainder unitrust distributed income to her son, Dr. John W. Mabee, until he passed away on October 31, 2021. Thanks to Mrs. Mabee, St. Joseph Healthcare invested in new equipment and improvements to hospital facilities to save lives and provide community support for all those who needed care.
