As the 2022 year came to a close, Edward and Mary Ellen Darling stepped forward with an amazingly generous gift to fund a new endowment. The Edward O. and Mary Ellen Darling Building Endowment Fund will provide yearly income to support the maintenance of two key St. Joseph Healthcare buildings – the Edward O. and Mary Ellen Darling Building at 900 Broadway and the Clift Darling House at 106 Congress Street.
The Edward O. and Mary Ellen Darling Building house St. Joseph Healthcare’s lab and imaging center, along with our same-day acute primary care program. The Clift Darling House, named for Edward Clift and Edward Darling, houses the foundation and marketing teams, and it is used regularly by staff and volunteers at St. Joseph Healthcare. “I am very grateful to Ed and Mary Ellen for their foresight. Their gift will ensure these buildings are well maintained for the benefit of our patients and programs,” says Brad Coffey, Foundation President.
Edward Darling said, “Mary Ellen and I care deeply about the work at St. Joseph Healthcare. They do so much for our community. Over the years, we helped fund improvements to two buildings that have our names on them. This gift will help maintain those buildings into the future for the benefit of all who utilize those buildings for care. We are honored to be able to do this.”
