Harnum family remembers Linda Harnum with gift

A $100,000 gift has been made in memory of Linda Harnum by her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ Harnum and their children, Richard ‘Rick’ and Keeley. In her memory, St. Joseph Hospital will name the Cardiology/EKG/Nuclear Medicine Hall on the hospital’s fifth floor.

Linda grew up and became a devoted member of the greater Bangor community, graduating from Bangor High School in 1959. She attended Endicott College and finished her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1963. Linda met and would later marry her husband while completing her junior year of college.

Linda and Dick returned to Maine as they prepared to start a family. She was thrilled to be blessed with two children and devoted to their happiness and care.

Those who knew Linda would often comment on her kind and unassuming nature and her ability to see through exterior appearances. She was quick to toss aside formalities in favor of being genuine and showed her gratitude for the life and love she was given.

“We are deeply grateful to the Harnum family for their generous gift in Linda’s memory. This wonderful gift will be used to support renovations to the hospital’s inpatient care environment,” said Brad Coffey, St. Joseph Healthcare foundation president.
