Dr. Jims Jean-Jacques is the President of the Medical Staff and a Cardiology provider at St. Joseph Healthcare. He received his DO degree at The Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Michigan. He also completed an advanced fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at the University of Rochester Medical Center – Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and advanced heart failure & transplant cardiology.
Dr. Jean-Jacques joined St. Joseph Healthcare in July 2017 and is the current Chief of Medicine, Director of the Heart Failure Program, and the Chairman of the Ethics Committee at St. Joseph Healthcare. He previously served as the Vice-President of the Medical Executive Committee, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Chairman of the Bylaw Committee, and Secretary/Treasurer of the Medical Executive Committee.
Dr. Jean-Jacques is also very active in his community. He serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Maine State Department Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Member Charter Committee of the town of Hampden, President of the Maine Medical Society (an affiliate of the National Medical Association), Founder of The Haitian Network of Maine, Medical Director Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Bangor Region YMCA, and Maine Medical Association Board of Directors.
Dr. Jean-Jacques and his wife Tania have two children. When he is not working, he enjoys playing the piano, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
